OK, so it looks like the box has taken a day or two extra to filter into some stores. For the poster above who mentioned GAME in Brighton, I can verify that on Saturday they had pre-order boxes on their shelves.
Please keep providing the feedback, it's very valuable for us. Pre-order boxes are a very new thing for Europe in general, and it's taking a while for retailers and store staff to get on top of it all.

i can verify that i , a West Yorkshire person (dont laugh hehe)
got my pre order from my local GAME store at about 12.10 on FRIDAY....it cost me £1.99 and i got it right out of the delivery, since they know me....they had 10 copies of the pre order come in, 2 of which came thru me, since i ordered 2 (the CE and the normal) but i only need/wanted 1 so they had a spare hehe
see, people, heres the thing....
Go down to the shop....
get to Know the guys/gals at the store...
hell, talk their ears off if you can, just make sure they know yu, that your a game fanatic and that ....
if they do now give you your pre order, you will NEVER leave the shop till they do..mwuhahahahaha
ahem.....
acutally i have found my local game to be not that bad....sometimes i can take the hint and bugger off when their full or busy, but in general, theres a lot of good guys/galls working there that DO know something about the games they are selling....though they sometimes refer a customer to me if im standing there and they wanna know about the sims, guild wars or neverwinter nights hehe
oh, and dont just phone them up....see, they have this special spiel they have to use on the phone, and it drains the life and will out of those that have to answer it alot....a physical presence is MUCH better....along with the treat of never getting rid of you

I got mine yesterday from Game in Bracknell, no problems, it was in the glass displaycabinet behind the till, and the guy immediately knew what it was priced at and everything.

Just a heads up, Gameplay.co.uk don't provide the pre-order CD, but they do take pre-orders... what the hell is the point of that?
Needless to say it also explains why their copy is £5 cheaper then other places... I've cancelled my order with them.
I'm going to get my pre-order from GAME, since the one in Manchester seemed to have loads of them.

Is GAME the only company in the UK where you can pre-order it from?

What about ON-LINE preordering Alex?.. I Understand that these pre-order box's are something that GAME employees cant get their head around but I NEVER had these kind of problems when ordering the original Guildwars 12 months ago!

Seems so at the moment, I called Gameplay.co.uk and asked them about it, and they do know about the Pre-Order CD, since loads of people have called and asked.
Needless to say the simply said "We don't provide that", why the hell does it not state that on their website then?
I called my local GAME store in Manchester, UK. Seems they know about it, and have some in stock. So I'm going to get one from there, and cancel my gameplay.co.uk order only when its in my hands.
Oh and the staff of GAME are useless, the number of times I gone into a store asking for something and they know nothing about it.

well, you could pop into your local Game, pay your £2 to get the pre-order box, and then find the on-line retailer that offers factions for £17.99, and write off the £2.

Would you like to tell me when you get your Pre-Order key? Cause I've ordered the game a week ago and I still haven't got my Pre-Order key, while everyone else gets it the day after. And they won't respond to my email or the contact form on the site. I'm really getting desperate. FFS.

Why do you never ask if a man is from Yorkshire?
If he is, he'll have told you already, and if not, why embaress them.

Ok..I may as well put all my questions in this thread.
Alex,
I pre-orderd GW:F collecters edition from game.net. Is this any different to buying the pre order box in the shop?
Am i meant to recieve some kind of code prior to release date?
Will I just get the extra pre order items in the CE box?
Thanks,
Jiao

Ok let me clear a few things up, since I been to GAME in Manchester. Firstly GAME have loads of Pre-order Boxes, so if your local one has run out, then it means they are out of stock.
Now the good news is, if you pre-order it from GAME, the CD costs only £1.99! And when you buy it you don't even need to pre-order the game at all! Meaning you can buy the box from GAME then find it cheaper online.
Now I got some quick digital camera pictures of the Box and its contents for anyone wanting to know what's in it. The box contains:
- Access to Exclusive In-Game Weapons (Factions Ones I think)
- 24 Hour Access head-start
- A GW: Factions Soundtrack CD
- A cool poster
- Soundtrack CD also contains loads of other goodies
The box:

But this isn't about the pre-order key, the key will get you some things, but the box gives you all the extra goodies.

My store isn't on the list (For netherlands), but Free Record Store also holds it.
I got an e-mail yesterday to tell me that the pre-order box has been sent. Maybe it'll be waiting for me when I get home for lunch.

Thats greats..thanks...
what about pre-ordering online Alex?
I work during the hours that stores are open in the UK so I can only order online.. as Im sure MANY other people are.
Please could you find out some information about pre-ordering online, we are not overly concerned about having the gifts, what is more important is that we have a key for the early access.
I've booked time off work for this event so its important for me to know that we will get the early access pre-order key... sites such as game.net dont reply to our emails.
Thanks
